Kaleidoscope is
just around the corner, and that means everyone is really feeling the
heat (especially the workforce). Now, we may or may not be drowning (not a pun
about Mumbai weather, I swear) in all the work, but we most definitely are excited
to see what this year has in store for us. We asked some of the third years in
the workforce about their favourite thing about Kaleidoscope, or what it is
about the festival that they love the most, and obviously, we weren’t
disappointed.
Anusha Kaul
Datta from Team Photography claims that for her, the festival is a platform to
develop her personality. She says that she’s always had trouble when it comes
to dealing with people, and that joining the workforce has allowed her to
interact with a bunch of strangers as well as friends in a semi-professional
set-up. “Getting to the point”, she says, “The best part about Kscope is
getting to meet new people. A happy, tired, excited, or annoyed bunch of 20
year olds can be great entertainment!”
Tanisha Bhan
from Team Funfair says “The thing I love most about Kscope is actually the
pre-Kscope preparation period- the interviews, the photoshoot, the bonding, the
rejections, the ‘cool’ meetings in the Den corridor, and all the gossip
sessions in the Den!”
Team Pre-K’s
Tanishqa Arora says, “Kaleidoscope has been an integral part of my graduate years.
I absolutely love the energy that the workforce carries around on the main
days, right from day one. It’s basically like every team member’s baby.” She
talks about how she loves the vibes that the various colleges have toward the
diverse Kscope events. “Sophia is a different place altogether”, she says. “You
won’t even recognise it as any other ordinary day. Every EC-Coord on the elims
days and main days builds and multiplies the energy and enthusiasm within every
Kscope member, which is 100% contagious. Being from Team Pre-Kaleidoscope, I
also have an advantage- I get to watch almost all of the events on the main
days, grab the yummiest food from the stalls, and get my hairdo done by
Souvenirs.”
Aditi Gupte from
Team Numerix also gave us some insight into what it is she loves most about the
festival. “Nothing beats the feeling that you get on the last day, when you’ve
successfully managed to pull off a festival on such a large scale, and everyone
is crying tears of happiness and sadness (because TYs), and you realise that
you’re part of something much bigger than you initially expected.” She goes on
to add, “Also, the pyaar from
everyone and feeling like a part of such a huge family always brings a smile to
my face.”
Team Creative’s
Krishna Trivedi talks about what Kscope has been like for her over the last
couple of years. “What I like about Kaleidoscope”, she says, “is that you get
to see so many different personalities- that would otherwise probably clash-
coming together and working on something that is so much bigger. Another great
thing about it is that it forces you to venture into areas that you wouldn’t
explore otherwise. After being a part of Kscope for the last two years, this
was the first year where I had to attend a sponsor meeting, and now I know how that works!”
Tarini Tripathi
from Team Informals says, “Kaleidoscope is one of those events in the year that
everyone- be it the workforce or the contingents- looks forward to. Being a
contingent member in my first year, and in the workforce in my second, has
given me a holistic perspective of the working of a festival as enormous as
Kscope. Continuing my workforce journey this year, the satisfaction I get from
watching the execution and product of our hard work is unparalleled. The fest
is the heart and soul of Sophia and that will never change- the Kscope spirit
will always be within us!”
